NorseBoat 21.5 hull #6 was launched late April 2012 in Rockland, Maine. The new owners from Philadelphia, PA travelled to Rockland for sea trials and to trailer their new boat home. How did they like it? “Our NorseBoat 21.5 is great...it far exceeds our expectations”.
Professional photo-journalist John Snyder of Marine Media took photos during the sea trials (view photos) and also put together a video of the event (view video).
NORSEBOAT 21.5 IN THE BAHAMAS

NEW NORSEBOAT 17.5 HEADING TO DUBLIN, IRELAND!
Ireland joins the growing list of countries to have a NorseBoat sailing and rowing craft plying their waters. The new owner is taking delivery of his NorseBoat 17.5 early May, 2012. NorseBoats are shipped overseas in ocean freight containers. A 20 ft container can handle two NorseBoat 12.5s or 17.5s, and a 40 ft. container can handle one or two NorseBoat 21.5s, one 21.5 and several smaller boats, or up to four smaller boats.
In March 2012 Phil and Hoa McLean (NB 17.5 hull #48) competed in the Everglades Challenge, a 300 mile adventure race from near St. Petersburg, FL to Key Largo. Despite prevailing strong winds, which kept many competitors from finishing the race, they had great fun taking part in the event.
An excerpt from their blog: “...just had the most incredible broad reach. 17-20mph winds well aft of the beam for about four hours under spinny and full main. Started hitting sustained 7.5-8.2 mph surfs by GPS that were so much fun! Spray shooting out left and right. ...a fantastic adventure.”

The schooner’s skipper loves the versatility, sailing and rowing performance, and load carrying capacity of the NorseBoat, and how his NorseBoat 12.5 complements his larger vessel.

TWO NORSEBOATS GO THROUGH NW PASSAGE IN 2010!

NorseBoat Limited sponsored the first annual Victoria-By-The-Sea Small Craft Festival, held July 3, 2010 in one of the most picturesque seaside villages on Prince Edward Island, located in eastern Canada. This celebration of small watercraft drew boat owners and tourists from as far away as Norway. NorseBoat had one 12.5 and two 17.5 sailing and rowing cruisers, and one of their new Norse Faering 19.5 kit boats. This informal gathering of small boat enthusiasts had all the classic ingredients for a fun filled day on and near the water: a variety of small craft, good food and drink at the village’s local establishments, good weather, and warm water (PEI has the warmest ocean water north of Virginia), Make plans to join us next year on PEI!
NEW NORSE FAERING 19.5 KIT BOAT DISLAYED AT MYSTIC SEAPORT WOODEN BOAT SHOW
NorseBoat displayed their new Norse Faering 19.5 Kit Boat at the east coast’s largest wooden boat show, held at Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT late June 2010. The beautiful lines and easy lapstitch construction method drew a geat deal of interest from the crowd of attendees. The Faering has three rowing stations and an easily handled sail rig.
The boats were built of spruce strip planking and epoxy, with one layer of glass cloth on the outside of the hull and ash frames and a partial second layer of spruce planking on the inside of the hull. Movie set designers completed the finish work of the boats to make them look like well worn whaling boats from the nineteenth century.
NorseBoat received the contract in July 2009 because of their ability to build high quality small boats with classic lines within tight budget and time constraints.

Steve Isaac, WaterTribe
She has been our home for six weeks, and she has been superb. She has been out in big seas, clocked 7.8 knots downwind, is very dry - and we've put her through hell. Her rig is simple and robust, and she can be rowed at over 3 knots by one person.
Kevin Oliver and Tony Lancashire, Arctic Mariner Expedition
“The NorseBoat is fantastic - meeting and exceeding my expectations, which were derived solely from the internet!
